Advertisement - ad injection for blogs and pages

Posted by Frank M. Kromann

We have extended our Advertisement module with a couple of new features.

1. It's now possible to use Javascript to create specific actions for each ad and it's possible to define an ad as a reference to external advertisers that inject the ads into the site via Javascript. Google's AdSense and other ad networks like lijit.com use this technology and these can now be used with our Advertisement module. Full page loads are required to inject Javascript based advertisement as most of the ad services do not support ads in content that changes with Ajax requests. Our system supports full page loads as an alternative to incremental AJAX loading.

2. The blog module now supports ad injection in a number of new ways. In Blog, Summary and Index views you can configure the number of posts/paragraphs before the first ad and the number of posts/paragraphs between ads after that. The configuration uses the selection of an ad group from which the ads are picked. In addition there is a new flag on the blog post level to disable advertisement for that individual post.

3. Similar to how ads are handled for blogs we also have support for injecting ads in pages. The ads can be injected between sections or between paragraphs.

Access control is supported by the Advertisement Module so you can avoid showing some or all ads to the registered users. Showing and clicking on your own ads might be a violation of the agreement you have with the ad agency. This feature can help you avoid non-compliance.

Our advertisement module is available in our Business package and up. You can find more information about our modules, packages and pricing here.
